Air Fryer Parmesan Truffle Fries


If you love fries then you will loooove this homemade, healthy version.


These are honestly some of the best fries you'll ever have. They're so good I eat them multiple times a week!


And the great part? They taste so delicious and indulgent without all the extra calories and saturated fat which makes them perfect as an any day, any time meal or snack.

 

Ingredients


2 large Russet or Yukon Gold Potatoes, washed

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 tablespoon truffle oil

30g finely grated parmesan cheese

1/2 tsp garlic powder

Salt to taste

Optional: chopped parsley to garnish


Method:

  1. Peel the potatoes if desired or leave as they are. Slice into french fry sized batons, about 1/4 inch thick.

  2. Place the potatoes into a bowl and cover with cold water. Leave them to soak for 30 minutes. (Don’t skip this step!)

  3. When ready to fry, preheat the air fryer to 190 C/ 375 F.

  4. Drain the potatoes and lay them out on paper towels. Dab them dry with extra paper towels.

  5. Place them in a bowl and toss with the olive oil, truffle oil and salt.

  6. Add them to your air fryer basket and cook for 10-15 minutes or until golden and crispy. Shake the basket halfway through cooking.

  7. When ready, transfer to a bowl, add in the parmesan, garlic powder and parsley and toss until completely coated.

  8. Serve immediately with your favourite condiments!

Notes:

If you don’t have an Air Fryer, you can make these in the oven too! Simply follow steps 1 and 2 and instead of preheating the air fryer, line a baking tray with baking paper and preheat the oven to 200 C/ 435 F or Gas Mark 7.

Spread the potatoes out on the baking tray and bake for about 15-20 minutes. Flip them over and pop them back in the oven for another 5-10 minutes or until they’re crispy and golden.

Once done, toss them with the parmesan, garlic and parsley and voila you have your fries:)
