This beef bowl may look simple but wow does it pack a punch!
It's made with Gochujang which is a Korean red chilli paste that's spicy, sweet, savoury and a little bit sour all at the same time.
If you like sweet and spicy flavours then you'll definitely enjoy this!
And it's such a quick and easy recipe too!
Ingredients
500g lean beef mince (vegetarian mince works well too)
15ml sesame oil
50g chopped spring onions
15g minced ginger
6 cloves garlic, crushed
45g Gochujang paste
45ml soy sauce
15ml honey or sweetener of choice
1-2 chillies (optional)
Method
Heat the sesame oil in a large skillet and add in the beef mince.
Once the beef has broken up and started to brown, add in the garlic, ginger, spring onions and chillies if using.
Once softened stir in the Gochujang paste, soy sauce and honey/sweetener.
Leave to simmer for 20-30 minutes until the beef has absorbed all the flavours and you have a lovely thick sauce.
Serve with rice and your choice of vegetables.
Garnish with some extra spring onions and sesame seeds.
